Personal Profile
I'm currently 3rd year Game Art Student at De Montfort University and will be graduating next summer in 2018.

My passion and drive for wanting to be an environment and prop artist in the games industry has come from well playing games, surprise, but specifically games that you can play and immerse yourself in a whole different reality or 'what if' alternate universe. By making high detail props and environments that tell a story, feel real or lived in is, for me, one of the most important components to story telling and capturing a players imagination and immersion.
This is what inspires my work most, and why I do what I do.

As well as making art, I have been a committee member of the Games Development Society for DMU students for nearly 2 years now and I'm so happy to be apart of encouraging first years and other departments at the university to get involved with Game Jams and industry talks that we organise. My official title for my role is 'Social Media Manager' as I run and post all the information students need to know about our events however I also manage events with the rest of the committee making sure everything runs smoothly, everyone has the software they need and the most important and cheesy part, everyone's having fun and learning. I love working along side such a great committee as we have achieved a lot this academic year already with having nearly 80 students take part in our first game jam of this academic year, the most we have ever had! it really is a great feeling knowing that we are helping all those students develop and learn more about team work, communication and relevant skills they will need when they graduate and endeavour into the games industry - I will definitely miss being apart of this when I graduate next year but it will be exciting to see the society go on to achieve even more in the coming years.

Game Art aside, I love traveling and have earlier this year travelled across Europe for 2 weeks with some friends and it was such an amazing trip it will definitely not be the last. Over the trip we visited Paris, Munich, Zurich, Milan, Venice, Prague and finally Krakow. I have collected over 2000 pictures from this, some touristy pictures but mostly reference pictures of course - Game Art never stops (hahaha). It was amazing seeing such a contrast of cultures and history in such a short time, it really amazes me how even though we are all human we are all so different and that is what inspires me to make my art personal to the characters needs, intentions and desires that impact their space and environment around them.
